Brief
Design and produce a mobile application that could be used by a practice-based researcher to capture, present and disseminate academic research activity as part of a written thesis, paper and product of practice.
Special considerations
Consider how the app might assist researchers with special learning needs or who would prefer presenting practice-based research as an alternative to the written thesis.
Research
Initial research involved understanding the traditional research method, methodology and the acquisition of academic research.
A research paper was delivered at the University of Southern California to collect research data from practice-based academic researcher.
On one hand it talked about the unique on-site a practice-based researcher holds within the research community and on the other hand it offered a potential research tool that could form an alternative to the research journal (usually a research blog/diary) that each researcher keeps to record and track their research activity.
Development
Following the initial research, a prototype application was developed to demonstrate different aspects of the practice-based researcher within the modern academy.
